Their recess games involve acting out video and computer games they play at home. (This is almost too sad for words.)
Their short stories in class go something like this:
"The airplane is shooting. He got shot. Is he dead? Find out at www.mydrawing.com."
The next step is for them to actually HAVE a website called "www.mydrawing.com".

We are waaaaaaay behind the technological generation at our house, and proud of it! No Wii, no Playstation, we don't even own High School Musical! Of course, my own children's recess games involve acting out movies and TV shows, but then I remember doing that, so it can't be bad, right?
How funny! Times have changed that is for sure.
It's like some sort of weird full-circle thing: when we were kids, we might play "cops 'n robbers", or "indiana jones", or find some other excuse to run around and "shoot" each other. Then we made video games to do that with. Now the kids act out the video games.

You've gotta admit: it's fun. Well... you don't gotta admit, but the kiddies don't lie. :)
