My New Job

A good friend, who knows the mommy-hood road very well and the teacher road very well, told me that being a mom is waaay easier than teaching. I took her word for it. And you know what? So far she's right.

When I was teaching, at least three times a day I'd have to gain and maintain the attention of 20 some-odd 6 year-olds, teach them things, and keep them from hurting each other and myself.

Now that I'm a mommy, at least three times a day I have to deal with something waaaay more fun.

The boy takes three naps a day and this is how I get to wake him up every. single. time.

My little yellow pea pod sleeping peacefully.

After I've released his arms from swaddling bliss.

He does the usual streeeeetch.
And then he goes back to sleep. Wait. Did he ever really wake up? Wake up, baby!

He thinks that's pretty funny. At least I know he can hear me, even if he doesn't open his eyes.
Another good stretch.
And he's awake!

That's right. Three times a day. Seriously. I need to eat him.

The last time I remember wanting to be a teacher was when I was like seven. (Okay, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration.)

I am so grateful for people who decide to be teachers. Although you got paid crap I guess one benefit was it prepped you for being a mom. I know I could have benefited from a little more preparation.

By the way, you are extremely lucky he takes three naps. Lucky, lucky. :)

LOL - That's AWEsome! Maybe I should have Jodie wrap me up like a burrito tonight. I just hope she doesn't take pictures of me waking up. I'm afraid Caleb's just a tad cuter than me after a good nap
