Random Thoughts Thursday

I think my goal should be to write at least one post in between Thursdays so my blog doesn't end up being a string of Randomness. But it is better than not blogging at all...

While I was at the store today I saw that Crayola crayons were on sale for 35 cents. I bought 5 of them. I have no use for crayons. It took a lot of will power not to buy 25 of them. This whole not getting ready for school this Fall is going to take some getting used to.

I am really susceptible to the power of suggestion. While reading through some websites today I saw a picture of sauteed mushrooms and (on another site) read about Twinkies. This is why I'm eating a Twinkie right now and dreaming about having something with sauteed mushrooms tomorrow. I wish I had more brain-control.

I'm currently reading "These is my Words" by Nancy E. Turner. Any book that can make you simultaneously laugh and cry at the same time is a winner.

When Caleb starts eating dinner regularly with us do we have to stop having 7-layer dip for dinner? Because that was a really good dinner tonight.

I've recently started reading this blog. She's hilarious, but she drops the occasional f-bomb, so I haven't recommended it to anyone. You've been warned. Why must people use profanity?

This song has been in my head today. It's really catchy. I don't really agree with all of the lyrics because I'm pretty sure that God is a man, but I get the message that says God loves everyone. And he turns vegetables into candy!

We went to the whole foods market and bought some new oil for Caleb's hair. Up until now we've been using baby oil. I also bought a Mounds bar. Why?

Because this boy

now smells like coconut.

And if I didn't have a Mounds bar, I would eat him.

I LOVE that smile. I'd eat him too. You better get that Costco pack. Just in case company comes over.

I heard about dooce.com when it won best blog of the year in Utah a few years ago. I tried to go to it, and the site just wouldn't load. I took it as a sign that I wasn't meant to read it, and never returned until today--I had forgotten it existed. Maybe I should give it another go.

Why is motherhood entwined with compulsive candy bar decisions?
